Food that fills you up

I’d like to talk about wanko soba.

Wanko soba is

The waiter will fill the bowl with the buckwheat noodles until you stop.

The soba is served with condiments.

It is a local dish of Morioka City and Hanamaki City in Iwate Prefecture.

I have not experienced wanko soba yet!

I wish I could try it.

The system seems to be that you are issued an order ticket from a ticket machine at the entrance of the restaurant.

Sashimi, grated nameko mushroom, minced chicken, sesame seeds, nori, pickles, dipping sauce, grated yam, green onion, wasabi, grated maple leaf, and an explanation of how to eat.

After that, the wanko soba begins.

The waiter says…

“Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! Go on, go on, go on! Keep it going!”

The waiter will fill your bowl with buckwheat noodles.

When you can’t eat any more, put the lid on the bowl.

This is a signal to say, “Thank you for the meal.”

After putting the lid on the bowl, you will not be able to eat soba again.

Please be careful about the timing.

And be careful not to overeat.
