The “Noryo-yuka” in Kyoto is open now.
What exactly is “Noryo-yuka”?
Noryo-yuka is one of the most popular summer festivals in Kyoto and Osaka.
It is located on the river or outdoors with a clear view of the river by restaurants and cafes.
And they serve food.
In Kyoto
There are “Kamogawa Noryo-yuka”, “Kibune no Kawadoko”, “Takao no Kawadoko” and “Shozan Keiryo-yuka” in Kyoto,
Each has its own unique atmosphere.

After the Sanjo and Gojo bridges were rebuilt, the riverbanks of the Kamo River were crowded with spectators and peddlers.
Rich merchants who took notice of this area set up stands for spectators and tea stalls.
That is the beginning of Noryokudo, isn’t it?

Yes.
In the Edo period (1603-1867), when I was there, stone walls and embankments were built, and a flower district was built nearby, making it an entertainment district.
I see.
By the way I have an image of Noryo-yuka as a place to go at night,
but what a surprise !
There’s a place where you can enjoy Noryok-yuka from the morning.
The name is “B STORE 1st”.
It is a renovated 100-year-old townhouse.
